🔥🔥🔥
I’m sure you saw what happened after yesterday’s 75bps hike announcement 👀

But then it went back up!
But then down again 🥴
Now slowly back up?

Damnit, the ape was right 😫
Today's Agenda:
400 ETH for $475M ⚠️
Sup in Decentraland 🎉
Tether Show ‘n Tell 🧐
Kraken CEO Quits 🥺
Coinbase web3 ID ✅

White Hat Hacker Awarded 400 ETH for Detecting Potential $475M Exploit
On the day he got his bounty, it was a nice $560k or so.
He could do a lot with that $520k, like buy a house or a supercar.
I mean, $480k is a lot!
BRB, checking charts..

So yeah $4k is pretty good 😅
Okay let’s get real.
Who did they save?
Arbitrum is an EVM-compatible layer 2 rollup solution for Ethereum.
The white hat known as riptide on Twitter found an exploit which would have allowed an attacker to steal all incoming ETH deposits to the L1->L2 bridge.
One Twitter user showed a recent ~$475M deposit which was totally at the mercy of this bug.
So he basically saved $475M 👀

And he didn’t even get their max bounty for discovering it, which is $2M.
So that answers the question 😒
$475M costs 400 ETH to a project that would probably have been ruined without the man’s help.
Wanna know exactly what happened?
Here’s riptide’s writeup.

What’s happening in Decentraland lately?
It’s been a while since we’ve checked in on the most popular metaverse.
Today marks the start of a 3-day celebration for Saudi Arabia’s national day.

You’ll catch a bunch of The Saudis NFTs walking around and passing along the good news of their Kingdom’s founding in 1932.
But that’s not all..
Can I interest you in some emotes?

Decentraland recently introduced a new way to express yourself through their 10 base emotes, and now they’ve announced they will allow users to buy, sell, and create their very own emotes.
They work just like NFTs, of course, and Decentraland invisions top brands using the feature to create unique emotes for events hosted in the metaverse.
Oh yeah, and ❤️
Almost forgot to mention that love is in the virtual air as dating.com announced its move into the metaverse, which represents the first online dating service in Decentraland.
With several marriages having already occurred in the digital world, now the process is complete as you can meet a partner, judge them based on their cool (or lame) emotes and NFTs, and then tie the knot before ever laying eyes on their actual self.

But maybe you just wanna have a really good, fancy, expensive ass time..

Limited Edition Hennessy Paradis and Gold Decanter Drops With NFT Art
Just look at it.

Now, it’s no $2.5M BAYC bottle 👀
But it is an exclusive (1/500) 700ml bottle of premium cognac for ~$2,500.
And frankly I think it looks better.

Of course, the BAYC bottle sold with a bunch of high-value NFTs which inflated its value, while this drop includes just:
1 exclusive 3D animated NFT on Ethereum that can be burned in order to redeem the physical bottle
INCREDIBLE (my opinion) ‘golden hour’ artwork by the internationally acclaimed design genius Venda Carter
The liquor and bottle are stored securely and insured with BlockBar
Cost = 1.91 ETH

God damn, what a quote 👏
And they’re even dropping a 1/100 1500ml “magnum” release later in the year.
What about quality?
Oh, you mean the liquor itself?
Glad you asked!

Every drop comes from a glorious batch brewed in 1979 by Master Blender Maurice Fillioux called Paradis cognac.

How much is the most expensive cognac in 2022?

Web3 Pipeline 📢
Tether ordered to provide documents - the issuer of the USDT stablecoin has long been suspected by the crypto community of not having as much USD backing their stablecoin as they claim. They essentially run on the ‘just trust me br0’ model. Now a NY judge has ordered them to provide a hefty pile of documents in order to peek under the hood and see if Tether is really packing or not. We’re all about to find out.
Kraken CEO stepping down - if you read the comments on this Reddit post about the news, you’ll notice a strange phenomenon. Everyone is being wholesome and wishing him well, etc. This might be the first time a big CEO has been able to leave the crypto community without amassing hatred and vitriol from everybody. Jesse Powell built a pretty great product, all things considered. The new CEO, longtime Chief Operating Officer of the company Dave Ripley, says the culture won’t change.
Coinbase partners with ENS to create cb.id web3 usernames - users can now get a username through Coinbase Wallet’s browser extension via ENS (just like how you can replace your Metamask wallet address with a unique .eth name, for example). It’ll look like this: YourName.cb.id.
